The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the mason, who apologizes for being so violent. He says that he's going to leave the room open so that someone can come and help him. He's also going to return the air truncheons that he borrowed from the crow. The mason says that the crow has given up his wings, which means that they're trapped in a cage. The crow's flapping wings are broken, and the view of the cage can "split even the sky" . This is a "brute savage battle" , the mason says. He compares the fight to the chickens at his country's house, where they were "slaughtered" by grandma's "harah house" in the waiting room. Everyone is sucked into the fight, he says, and it seems like "divine interven" has come to think about it. He explains that the fang was created by braking, and that if the opponent moves too far away, he won't be able to pull it off. If he moves too close to the opponent, he'll get "fanged" and the opponent will get "hammered." The mason asks why the keeper didn't tell him sooner about the hammer, and he says that dipshit "forgett all about" the hammer. The keeper says that most of the keepers don' t know about the other guy's gear, but this guy knew that he was going to have a tough time beating the kid.
