In this short scene, we learn that the main character, Dr. Manette, is a "Jade Road" , a combination of stone and wind. He tells us that he can stop the "monster" with only three moves: he needs to land, land, and stop the monster from moving. He can do this even if the entire body of the monster is on the line, but only if he puts his own life at risk. The only thing that's going to satisfy him is the moment when his body is "plagued with dust" .
