In this short scene, Hirokazu and the other passengers on the Milady express their gratitude to the crew of the ship that has brought them to the port of Yokohama. They also express their desire to return to the Russian port of Vladivostok, where they hope to be able to board the ship for their journey to Europe. As they wait for the ship to reach the port, they talk about how lucky they are to have survived the storm and how grateful they are that they are able to live on such a meager income.
