In this chapter, we find out that the guy is trying to figure out how to fly through the air. We learn that air is denser than water, so it's easier for the guy to get his wings up when the wind is blowing. We also learn that he can sense the shadow that's coming from the other side of the room, so he can figure out what's going on. He can also see that the shadow is coming from a different direction, which means that he has to jump higher to get there. The guy also explains that the only way to keep his air gear is to keep flying through the sky. The only way he can do this is if he can stay above the ground.
