Now that the battle is over, Volger wakes up and realizes that he's been born with one purpose in mind: to protect the king. He wakes up in a giant pool of blood, which he describes as "the beauty world entirely" . He says that everyone around him is an enemy, and eventually he has to "swallow these fangs" into everyone. The title "keeper" , he says, "landed on us" when he started having dreams about it not listening to him. He knows that this day will come, and he says that he knew it would come when he saw the chain lock and the "at" on the rider. He thinks that this is the day when he will disappear forever. He tells the rider that he will "drip drip" no matter what happens, and then he'll "take back" the keeper's body. The keeper is tiny, but he is still standing. Volger says he wants the keeper to stay and fight with him forever, even though he can't see any trace of his body.
