About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the game is based on the concept of team-based combat. In other words, each team member is assigned a specific task to perform in order to advance their team's chances in the game. In this case, the task is to defeat the opponent's highest-ranking member. In order to accomplish this task, each player must first defeat the enemy's lowest-ranking player. This task is referred to as the "battle" or "round robin" style of combat, and each player is assigned one of three tasks to perform: 1) destroy the enemy, 2) destroy the opposing team, or 3) take out the enemy. In the round robin style of battle, the highest ranked player is eliminated first, followed by the lowest ranked player, and so on. This means that each player needs to focus his or her attention on one enemy. This is what the "Stone Keeper" is trying to accomplish. He presses the button on the wall, but the button is too small for him to press. He is confused by the situation, wondering where they came from, what they are going to do, and how they're going to get there. He's sure that Sikir knew they were going to be crossing at this exact moment, but he's not sure how they could co-ordinate their actions. The whistle sounds, and the three enemies can hear each other's location.
