About This Chapter
It's a fly to second, and it's the end of the first half of the second half. Seido has a chance to win the game in the sixth, but it doesn't work out that way. They're still down by one run, but they've got a chance in the bottom of the sixth. The pitcher throws a changeup, and Seido's got a one-run lead. The coach tells his players not to make too much of the fact that their opponents are better than them, because they have three more innings left in the game. He also tells them not to believe that they're any better than their opponents. He says, "turn this game around" . He's excited about the future of the school, and he hopes that this will be the beginning of a "new era" at the school. He thinks that the school's "powerhouse" team is making waves, and that they are just as good as any team he's ever seen. He praises the pitcher, Wakabayashi, who keeps the team going with his "relentless assault" on the opposing team's leadoff batter.
