Hiroshi, the coach of the Sendai High School baseball team, asks his players to begin practicing for the national team's upcoming game against the Minami High School team at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Hiroshi notices that his form has changed, and he wonders if the rumors of a girl friend on the team are true. He hopes that the team will be able to make it to the tournament as a first-year player. The coach asks Hiroshi if he has thought about making his national debut, and Hiroshi says that he hasn't, but that he respects the team so much that he wants to make sure he does his part. He says that it would be nice if he could play with the team for the rest of his life, and that he would rather fight with them than go to their home, Minami, where he thinks they abuse him. He wants to go to Minami and cheer them on, but Hiroshi doesn't want to go, because he still thinks that Hideki yoshizawa is the best player in the world. He thinks that Hiroshi is just a kid, though, and wishes that he had a girl to play with. He wishes that they could win the game, because they're doing so well.
