Okay, now we're back in the middle of the action again. This time, it's the "ace of the diamond" versus the "fourth batter" . The "ace" is Hiroki Uehara, and Hiroki's got a pretty good track record of beating the fourth batter. The only problem is that Hiroki has a tendency to swing at balls that look like they're going to hit the "death glare" of a fastball, so Hiroki wants to make sure he doesn't get caught swinging at anything outside the strike zone. He's not going to back down, though, because Hiroki is the "pillar of his team" , and he's one of the few guys on the team who can hit the ball out of the park. So Hiroki needs to be careful not to give Hiroki too much of a chance to hit a home run. The first pitch of the game is way too high for Hiroki to hit, so he has to go lower and let the ball fly. Hiroki can't believe how high the ball is going, but he'll have to wait until the next pitch to see if he can catch it. The next pitch is even higher, but Hiroki still has no idea what's going on. He thinks Hiroki must have gotten caught up with the "batter's energy" and "throws too high," and he wonders if Hiroki really wanted to have a "little duel" like this.
