The next day, Hiroshi asks to be excused from class so that he can watch the ina ugumori team play. Hiroshi tells him that he has been sleeping through class, and he apologizes for his behavior. The next morning, he wakes up to find that Hiroshi has left class early to watch the team play in the high fall tournament. He asks Hiroshi to tell him what he should have told him when Hiroshi came to his room to talk to him about the tournament, and Hiroshi says that he didn't tell him anything important. He tells Hiroshi that he doesn't understand why he would want to sleep through class when he enjoys baths, and that he would rather be locked in a cage than be hosed down in the shower. Hiroyuki tells him to lock him in the cage and hose him down like a dog, and the two of them agree that they are not the same people. They joined the team as regular members because they weren't recruited from other schools, and they were prepared to endure three years of hard training when they signed up. They don't play baseball because someone told them to, they play because they have chosen the path they've chosen. They're not playing because someone said they should, they're playing because they believe it's what they chose.
