Seido High announces a player substitution. The next batter, however, is a pinch hitter named Hiromi kominato, who is begging for a pitch. Seido high hopes that the pinch hitter will be able to get a hit off of him, but the kid is too small to hit a wooden bat, so he gives him a metal bat instead. The kid hits a fly ball to left field that breaks Hiromi's bat, but he makes it to first and third with only two outs.
