About This Chapter
Chapter 196 resumes the conversation between the students who returned from the tournament and the ones who stayed at the dorms. The students who went back to school were mostly from the first generation, but now there are 59 students from the second generation. They've all been there for a long time, and they've learned quite a bit. The only thing that hasn't improved is the team's performance. They haven't won a game in six years, and the coach is the only one who can blame it on. He's the one who's been coaching the team for the last six years. The new captain, Miyuki, is going to be the new leader of the team, and he's got a lot on his plate. Miyuki's going to have to do a lot of catching, which means that he'll have to be a lot more vocal in front of the other players. He also needs to be more patient with the pitching team, because they're not going to give him any time to rest. The two students agree to support Miyuki as much as they can, but Miyuki is still a little shaken up by the whole thing. He wants to get results, he says, but he doesn't want to do it with the third-year guys who have retired. He thinks that in order to do so, you have got to have a hunger for victory. He asks the two students to warm up before Miyuki delivers his speech, and then he asks them to keep their voices up so Miyuki can hear them.
