This chapter opens with a flashback to a time in the middle school when a kid named zaizen was struck in the arm by a "monster" named tetsu-san and jun-san. The kid tells us that he was the one who was struck and that the opposing team was trying to get a runner on first base for a long hit. He says that he's so pathetic that he can't even squeeze the old man's shoulder. He's also worried that the kid is too much fun and that they're trying to "piss off" him. He wants to hit the kid so badly that he won't be able to do it. He tells the kid that he doesn't want to be a part of this, but he'll do it anyway.
