In this chapter, we learn that sawamura has a lot of confidence in his abilities as a pitcher, and that he's looking forward to facing Chris again. We also learn that the two men have a lot in common: they're both former high school pitchers, and they've both worked hard to get to the point where they can compete at the next level. We learn that seeing Chris will be a good opportunity for Sawamura to get back to his old self, and he wants to know how he can do it. He wants to learn how to pitch like a real pitcher, not just a guy who throws a bunch of home runs. He also wants to be able to pitch to the corners of the yard, so that he can get a better feel for the distance between himself and the batter.
