In the fourth round of the tournament, the Chigusa metropolitan team takes on the yakushi team. The Chigishi team is led by a young pitcher named Sanada, who was injured in the first game and has been unable to return to the mound. The other team, led by Mino, has stolen seven bases in the game. Coach Todoroki, who used to be a part of a big-time baseball team in the U.S., is amazed at how Mino has been able to stay away from the batter for so long. He compares Mino to the "money tree," a symbol of wealth, and notes that Mino is hungrier than ever because he has been training for the ultimate image-training session. The two men agree to watch the game together.
