About This Chapter
In this chapter, we get a brief glimpse of the pitching staff. We're told that the team's count is still standing at two strikes per ball, which means that Pitching U has to throw a changeup in order to keep up with the rest of the team. We also learn that the pitching coach is worried about his pitch count. He's worried about how many pitches Pitch U can throw in a game, but he's also worried about whether Pitch U will be able to hit the ball. Pitch U says that he'll try to throw the ball low enough to keep Pitch U off balance, and that's the only way he can stop Pitch U from hitting the ball out of the park. We learn that Pitch U's third year on the team was unanimous in his decision to stay with the club, and Pitch U has brought the team to the brink of the World Series.
