About This Chapter
The coach of the school's baseball team tells his players to pack up their things and get ready to go to their new dorm. He tells them that spring practice starts early and that they should rest up during the break. The coach warns them that they may have trouble getting used to the new place, but he promises that they will be friends from now on. He says that if they get too close to him, he will send them flying. He also tells them to be careful not to talk to him like a friend, because he will be watching them closely. He warns them not to be too chummy with him, because if they do, he'll send them out of the country. The students are all excited to meet the coach, and he asks them to introduce themselves in turn. They all agree that it's a shame that the coach didn't clap them when they played the first game, but the coach says that it was on the other kid for sleeping in during practice time. The student says that he's confident that he can get into the dorm, but worries that he won't be able to show his face to his friends back home because of the coach's strict timekeeping. He's also worried that they'll whisper to him that he was late, because they've got more than 100 club members in the dorm and the coach is strict with punctuality. He reminds the students that even if they apologize, they still have to be late. They can't trust him again, he says.
