About This Chapter
In the top of the fourth inning, Ruchi begins to complain about his team's inability to keep up with the pace of the game's action. He laments the fact that the opposing team has been able to score six runs in the previous three innings. He also laments that the pitching has been so good that he has been unable to get a single hit off of the opponent's pitcher. Ruchi's frustration is further compounded when the opposing pitcher strikes out the first three batters of the inning. The only hit he has is a double, which is a relief to him because it means that the other team has no runners on the basepaths. As Ruchi continues to complain, he realizes that the only way they can keep up their offensive pace is by pitching at a low pitch. He wonders if they will be able to do so in the upcoming summer tournament, when they will have a chance to practice against the best pitching in the world.
