About This Chapter
The next morning, Sawamura asks Yonada how he's feeling. Yonada tells him that he hasn't asked him to catch for him in two days. He says that he'd rather be in charge of the team and prepare the players physically, mentally, and emotionally. He thinks that Yonada's team is better than the other team in drawn games because they're more aggressive in their defense. He tells Yonada that he finally feels like he belongs on the team, and that he feels like a part of the group. He's glad that he didn't make it on base, though, because Yonada doesn't have the power to hit a home run. He also says that the other players he needs to mark are Enos, kuramochi, and the captain. He notes that Enos has a better eye than Yonada, and Yonada thinks that's because Enos is a better hitter than Yonado. He wonders what coach Hiroki told the other day about how important it is to press the numbers on the field, and he wonders what Yonada plans to do after he leaves the team. He admits that he was thinking about taking a job as a manager, but he says he'll stay as a player.
