About This Chapter
The next morning, Sawamura asks Furuya if he's okay to go on his class trip. Furuya tells him that he'll have to miss practice because of his sprained ankle, but that it won't be as bad as it sounds. He's still the ace of the team, he says, and it's good that he doesn't have to worry about his ankle. He also tells her that they'll be able to watch her practice and her games, too, since they're in the same high school as last year. They also mention that there's a Japanese variant of chess, shogi, that they don't like to play in, so they'd like to watch their practice and their games. A little birdie tells them that they should have a good start to the season, because it'll help their chances of getting into the tournament. They're both psyched about that, and they both agree that having a strong start is important.
