About This Chapter
In the middle of the second inning, Miyuki catches a fly ball off the bat of Toshiba, who has just walked the first batter he sees. Miyuki and the rest of the team discuss how bad the situation is, and Miyuki points out that it's Miyuki's own fault for getting the team into this mess in the first place. They decide to let the infielders back up to the pitcher, hoping that this will calm Miyuki down a bit, and that he'll be able to get through the next batter's at-bat. The other team members agree that Miyuki is doing a good job, and they're hoping that he can get through to the batter in time to calm him down. The only problem Miyuki has is that he doesn't have a good command of his breaking ball, which is why he's having trouble getting through the second batter. He's got to learn how to use it, he says, and he hopes that once he gets a good one, he can blow it away.
