About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've seen this chapter, but we're starting to get a little taste of what it's like to be in the middle of the action. We're introduced to a new character named "Miyuki" , and he's kind of a crazy-good-pitcher. Miyuki's a pretty good hitter, but he also knows how to hit the ball. He's got a good feel for the strike zone, so he knows when to strike out and when to pinch hit. He also knows when not to hit a pitch that's too close to the batter. He tells Miyuki to keep an eye out for the ball, and Miyuki tells him to be careful with the pitch. He says that Miyuki doesn't strike out as often as he used to, so Miyuki should be able to take advantage of the situation. He even says that the pitch Miyuki hit was a "breaking ball" that "turns right" as it hits the batter, which is kind of like a "sli-sli" or a "slider." Miyuki is all, "what was that pitch?" and says that it was a good pitch, but Miyuki didn't hit it well. He apologizes for ruining their chance to get an early lead, and says they'll figure out a way to counter Miyuki. They're going to have to pitch their own way, Miyuki says, because Miyuki isn't as good as Miyuki, and they're not going to let Miyuki get away with anything.
