About This Chapter
Miyuki's team is down by one run when a runner comes home on a double play. Miyuki wonders what the coach's thoughts are on his pitching. He wonders if the batter, Ross, has been hitting the ball hard because Miyuki hasn't been able to get him to hit the ball out of the park. The coach wonders if he'll be able to keep the team in the game if he doesn't get the batter to hit a fly ball to the right side of the field. He's worried about what kind of hitter Ross is, but he's also worried about how Miyuki will handle the situation if he gets the runner to advance to second. He decides to pitch to the outside instead of to the inside, which would allow him to get the hitter to hit an outside pitch. Mimaki decides to take the batter on with the outside pitch
