The next morning, Miyuki and Sawamura prepare for their first day of practice. Miyuki tells them to make sure they're ready to go, since they'll be catching in the bullpen that afternoon. He tells Miyuki that he's tired, but Miyuki insists that he won't be tired, since it's only the fifth day of the season. The coach comes in and asks Miyuki what's going on, and Miyuki says that he doesn't know. He's surprised that Miyuki can catch so well, since Miyuki hasn't caught in the big leagues for so long. He also says that the whole team is tired and worn out, so Miyuki shouldn't try to bring them all together by coaching them, since that'll only make things even more difficult.
