About This Chapter
The next morning, Tommo wakes up to find himself in the middle of a conversation with his friends. He's worried about what's going to happen in the next game, but he's also worried about how he'll be able to make it back to the next one. Tommo asks his friends if they'd like to catch his pitches, and they all agree that they would like to do so. He tells his friends that he wants to throw as hard as he can in order to get his chance to play in the big game again. He also tells them that he doesn't want to be the one to decide whether or not he plays in a game, so he just wants to go out there and throw the best pitches he can. When he gets to the mound, he sees that the pitcher is off to a good start, but then he sees a wild pitch and realizes that it's not the same pitch that he threw in the last game. He starts to cry, thinking that he just threw four wild pitches in one game.
