This chapter opens with Luo, a young disciple of the wanjian sect, asking his older brother, brotherchang, to buy a pair of light-fantasy dual swords for himself. Luo tells his brother that the swords are not suitable for him because they are too expensive. He also tells Luo that he knows a beautiful woman who is also willing to buy the swords, but he refuses to let her have them. He then challenges Luo to a duel, but Luo refuses, saying that he has already bought the swords for Luo and that he is under his care.
