This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the newly-minted patriarch of the chu clan. He tells the others that he has killed chu tian and formed a new death feud with him. He also announces that the three remaining members of the clan will be expelled from his family and will not be allowed to live or die in the family books. The patriarch says that he hopes everyone will choose between him and the others. The young master is impressed by the patriarch's performance. He says that the patriarch deserves to die. He then gives the young master a few bottles of body-moisture pills. The master says that these pills are for him and that he wants to use them to further his cultivation. He wants to give them to yun ge and then pass them on to him. The business is important to the family, and the patriarch wants to have full authority over it.
