In this chapter, we learn that the city lord has been stuck in the spirit world for a long time, and that he can't get out of it. He has two conditions: first, he has to collect nine spirits cores from the nine heavens before he takes part in the selection of the martial house. The second condition is that he must become a "guest elder" for the family for a period of ten years. The city lord doesn't believe that this is a serious request, but he's willing to pay for it.
