The chapter opens with a description of the southern suburbs. The narrator tells us that the house they are currently living in is miserable, and that they are planning to build a new house on the ruins of the old one. He also tells us about the fact that the climate on the mountain is abnormal, which means that there is a spiritual vein there, but that it is blocked by the cold. He says that as long as he finds a way to "unblock" the spiritual vein, the mountain will be worth more than it is currently worth. He adds that the name of the new house is "Home of Cloud". The narrator says that he wants to live in the house too. He tells the narrator that they have already bought all of the supplies and baby stuff for the house. He then tells the story of how he has received an invitation to the pavilion of the martial house, and he is going there to pick up a treasure. Senior feng is looking for him, and the narrator tells him that he is a new disciple of the master. The elder feng tells the young man that the master wants him to go with him tomorrow, and they are going to go together the next day. The young man says that if he passes the test, he will be able to become a core disciple.
