The elder of the Nine-Florp Palace, Lingbing, appears at the gate of the palace. He is a disciple of Lingxiang, and he wants to introduce her to the martial arts of the nine-florp palace so that she can learn them. The elder says that he knows that Lingxiang and the young master have deep feelings for each other, and that it is difficult to separate them for a while, but that he is willing to take her as a disciple as long as they agree to it. He also says that the palace has enough spirit stones and herbs to cultivate for long periods of time. He adds that he has heard from Lingxiang that the young man wants to enter the martial houses of the five martial arts, and so long as he says the word "martial arts," the elder will recommend him to them.
