The next morning, Hiroshi asks what happened to him. He's bummed that he's lost the race, but he doesn't know why. Hiroshi says that he was bummed out because he thought he was going to beat him in school, but now he thinks he can't do it. He tells Hiroshi that asahina's pregnant, and that she's not going to be able to have the baby either. He says that neither of them can go to school if they have the child, because they'll be burdened with other people's kids. He also says that if he had the baby, he'd be a burden to other people, too, because he'll have to take care of everyone else's kid. He asks Hiroshi why he kept his trip a secret, and he says that it was not the fluster's dad who scolded him, but it was Hiroshi's lack of spirit that caused him to lose the race. Asahina says that her dad forgave him, and Hiroshi thinks that's a good sign.
