The narrator tells us that he's not in the best of spirits. He's bummed out that he and Ami aren't getting along, but he promises to get things back on track. Ami is in the hospital right now, so she'll have to fill in for Hiroshi at the ink factory for a week. The narrator is bummed out, too, because he doesn't know what else to do with his life now that he can't see Ami anymore.
