The next day at the track meet, Arima asks Yonada if he thinks he can break any records. Yonada says that he almost forgot that Arima is a sophomore at Totsugu prep school. Arima tells Yonada that if he had not died, Yonada's chatter would be "one hell of a competition chatter" . He says that if Yonada were alive, this would be a "hell of a chatter chatter" if he didn't have a dead body to talk about. He also says that Yonada has no reason to run because he doesn't want to meet "hot chicks." Yonada replies that he came to the meet because there are going to be "tons of hot chicks" , and he hopes that once the girls see how fast Yonada is running, they'll see that he's really fast. He then says that some "playboy" is going to hit on a girl, and Yonada sees that he hasn't changed, and that he is the one who has always been hanging out with Yonada at the meet. He adds that he has nothing to say to Yonada, so Yonada leaves him alone to talk to the girl. The girl, Asahina, thinks Yonada was faster than Arima, but Yonada points out that she's wrong. He asks her why she thinks he is faster than her, and she responds that he should apologize for her.
