He encounters two university students, one of whom is the daughter of a landlady and the other of a cousin. The protagonist complains about the lack of hot water in the city and the fact that the two students do not seem to have much of a sense of humor. He also criticizes them for being so rude to him and his friends. He suggests that they throw a party for him to welcome him back to his new home.
