Two years have passed since Mimaki became the first person in the world to win the Grand Prix, and now he's back in the hunt for the gold. He's got a crush on Shusuda, but he doesn't know how to handle it. Asahina interrupts the conversation to tell Mimaki that a friend of hers has been killed in a car accident. Mimaki asks if he was one of the team's other riders, and Mimaki says yes, and that everyone around him was crying because of the accident. He says that he felt no sorrow or pain, but that he must have been "a cold hearted person" . He thanks Mimaki for coming, and says he'll write his name on Mimaki's wall, too.
