The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's explanation of why he decided to go abroad to study. He says that his friend Asahina told him that he was a serious athlete and that she was happy when she saw that. He wants to go to a school like hers so that he can continue his love for her. He also says that he is in love with her and that they will head back to Japan together. Hiroyuki tells him that one of his friends has already sent him a letter to the university and that he should give him a break. He then tells Hiroyuki that he has made up his mind about going to seijo. He explains that he knows that he will always regret his decision if he does not do what he wants to do. He adds that asahina was mad at him for joining the track team so that she could be near her. She chose seijo because he was one of her other sons. He will tell her that he still has feelings for her and she will be happy to hear this. He asks if she knows why he is choosing seijo and she says that she already knows. He tells her that she has dyed her hair back and he has to pass a no skills test to get into the university.
