In this short scene, the audience is introduced to a new character, the "real live hero" of the play. He is a young man who has just returned from the battle of the "challemier" . He has just witnessed the death of the champion, and he is horrified to see that the monster has killed a large number of human beings in the arena. The audience is shocked to learn that this is the first time that a man has killed so many people in such a short period of time.
