This is a locked chapterChapter 108: Enter the Lady-Killer
About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that a drug called "truth magic" is used to make people say things that are on their minds. It works for a short period of time, but this time, the person who takes the drug has to confess that he's been using it. The narrator says that he has taken the drug, too, and that if he confesses his guilt, it will be "enkindling" and "inwardly positive" . He tells us that he doesn't know if he'll ever be able to admit his guilt to anyone, but he thanks everyone who has helped him. He's grateful, he says, and they'll go up to the tower together to find out what's going on with Krook. He says that Krook is in high spirits and that everything should be fine now that they've found out that he and Krook are in the middle of a big fight. They'll have to put Krook in isolation for some time.
