This chapter opens with a description of the monster, who is described as "one of the most powerful active users of earth magic" . The monster explains that he is a threat to humanity because of his enormous power. He adds that the leaders of the construction of the tower had foreseen the monster's power and had taken precautions to keep it from becoming a threat. He says that he thinks there is something behind the threat, something that involves him and his grandfather. He asks if there is a way to defeat the monster without touching him. He explains that if he touches him, they will win. He then asks if the secret to his immortality has anything to do with it. He wants to know if it is about time that he told him about it.
