This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Tota and sempai. Tota says that she wants to see her naked, but she doesn't want to be seen naked because she loves nothing more than "hole up in and room" and "that stupid increase incompe ration in tent" . She wants to be watched by her uncle, who is waiting for her at the top of a tower. She tells Tota that she is the "best match" for Tota, and that she would "ruin" him if she were to marry another man. She also tells him that if he wanted to look at her, she would have said the same thing. She says she is representing "all immortals" , and she will not let the other girls beat her.
