In this chapter, we learn that the robot has been transformed into a boy, and that he has been living in a hospital for the past 72 years. He is now 13 years old and has been in the hospital since he was a baby. He tells us that he wishes he could be him, because he is so much older than he actually is. He says that he was made immortal by science, and he wishes that he were a robot instead of a boy.
