It's a common practice among Japanese people to give in to their desires, whether it's because they're afraid of what other people will say or because they want to do something for the sake of doing so. This is a common way for people to practice restraint, but for the non-Japanese, giving in is much more difficult. For example, if you're a writer and you want to write about a certain subject, you might as well just write whatever you want. If you write about something that's gross, you'll get fired. Giving in to your desire is much harder for the Japanese than it is for you, because they have a lot of common sense and they know what's best for their society. They don't have the same common sense that you do, so they'll just give in and do whatever they want. They're not as restrained as you would be if you were writing about a subject that you didn't want anyone to know about. They just give it all in and publish whatever it is that they want, even if it means they have to edit it to make it look less gross. They can't even finish a script because they just gave it in and played games to shake the dead line. They give in even if they think it'll ruin their work. They even give it in if they want it to look bad. They might have edited it out if they wanted to, but instead they just pub-lished it. They also give in when they want things to look good, like when they buy a set of mugs that have a special relief crystal and a special set of canned bread for only ten ceyen. They buy tickets to comic shows just to get more money, and they just ask for more money.
