In this chapter, we learn that the doctor is one of the students of Nozomu, and that he has caught a cold during the summer. When the doctor asks if he has seen sensei, the doctor replies that he hasn't. He then asks if she has seen the older brother of the doctor, and she says that she has. The older brother is the doctor's brother, and the doctor says that he's found him. The doctor then tells the doctor that he found no way that sensei could have been a missing person, since he'd just gone back to his parents' house for satoyaki, or a religious ceremony. He says that it's strange that no one would know where his parents live, since no one could be sure that they live in the U.S. He also says that the family is a prestigious one, and he'll never stand for an arranged marriage until his relationship with nozomu has been settled. She then tells him that the house they're in is the head of a huge family, and there are four sons and four daughters, all of whom are going to be married in a ceremony that's supposed to take place at noon today.
