About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist's real name is "San" and that he was born in April of that year in a small town in the northeastern part of Japan. We learn that he is a member of the Ku Klux Klan, which is a hate group, and that his real identity is unknown. The protagonist tries to convince himself that he's the real person, but he can't. He's afraid that if he tells the truth, he'll be labeled a "pedant" or a "miserchief" .
