Chapter 44 opens with a poem in which the narrator declares that he is leaving the restaurant that does not take orders. He says that he has already made up his mind and that he does not belong there anymore. He tells us that there are real girls with mustaches and nipples and that there is no lolita girl in his class. He adds that he used to have sex with girls, but now he is going to let go of them. He thinks that people who get excited about something and come to an inane conclusion all by themselves are the ones who live in their little worlds. He compares himself to a street musician who does not listen to anyone but himself. He does not care what anyone else thinks, as long as what he is doing is perfect. He goes on to list some of the geniuses who did not receive recognition in their own time. The narrator then introduces us to his wife, who he calls yuka. She has a great personality, and he says that she is lost in his name.
