In this chapter, the narrator explains that he is a truant at school. He explains that the teacher is absent, and that he has been worried about a girl who has been suspected of domestic violence. The girl worries him, and he worries that he will commit suicide. He tells the girl that he thinks he will kill himself, and the girl tells him that she worries about him too. The teacher, she says, is an ordinary person. He says that he's a student of his class too, and she says that she's also a student in his class. The narrator says that if the girl is allowed to return to her family, the school will be ruined. He also says that the girl has been talking too much about her love, and there is no one there to talk to.
