For example, he tells us, there's a guy in the village who's never told anyone a lie, and the villagers are afraid of him because they've never heard of him. The narrator also tells us about a guy who never tells anyone a joke and who has his house burned down. He'd like to run for governor, but he doesn't want to be friends with Kinniku. He also says that if he were a jokester, he would tell the staff and collect consolation, but then he would have to tell the truth.
