In this chapter, we learn that the dream ending of a story is the one that the protagonist wakes up from in his dream. In other words, the story ends when the main character awakes from a dream. This means that we're in the middle of a dream, which means that everything in the story is happening in the dream. We're starting to get a little worried about what's going to happen in the real world when we wake up in the morning, right? Well, that's because we've been dreaming all day. The narrator is all, "Gee, it's really hard to wake up when you're having a dream" . He also points out that the ending of the story isn't really a dream at all. It's actually a real dream, and the protagonist is actually in a dream talking to himself. He's not acting like an ordinary person, he's acting like a genius, and so on and so forth. We get the sense that the narrator is having a really hard time waking up from his dream, because he can't figure out what the heck is going on.
