The chapter opens with a discussion of whether or not it's time for the school to close. The narrator says that he'd like to take action before the outbreak of the disease spreads. He says that when people are sick, their immune systems become weak and they can easily become infected. He compares this to a piece of tangerine that sizzled on a grill of a heater, or a putty eraser that got stuck in a student's head. He also says that the theme song from the Polo World Cup gets stuck in students' heads all day long, and that the entire film industry is infected with the same deadly disease. He adds that he hopes to be a free agent soon, so that he can transfer to a big league team once the disease is gone. The chapter ends with the narrator declaring that they're the only survivors in the world and that they can "create a new world."
