In this chapter, the narrator delivers a long speech on the subject of "detuning" . Detuning, he says, is when people try too hard in order to get what they want. He compares this to the way people try to get into a clothing store and use parts that are too small to fit into the clothes they're selling. The narrator says that this is a good example of how detuning can be used to your advantage.
